History

The Architecture Program started in 1979 under the College of Engineering & Technology and eventually converted into a College on February 27, 1991 thru WMSU Board Resolution No. 12 s. 1991 with Arch. Manuel Asuzano, CUAP as OIC and in 1993 Arch. Domingo A. Abarro III, FUAP was elected as its 1st College Dean and continued to serve as dean until re-elected as dean again last October 2007 (serving until the present). The B.S. Architecture Program was declared by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as Center of Development - 2 (COD-2) in 1999 (One of the top 5 Architecture Schools in the Philippines) due to its outstanding performance in educating future global architects, exemplary / award-winning researches and community outreach programs. Up to the present the college has produced seven (7) PRC Board of Architecture Top – Notchers.
